Re-Parenting Therapy

“I don’t believe I’m loveable.”

“I lack confidence in myself.”

“i’m not valuable unless I’m doing something for someone else.”

enough is enough.

THOSE NEGATIVE BELIEFS NEED TO STOP HOLDING YOU BACK FROM LIVING YOUR LIFE.

Maybe you’re tired of these negative beliefs running the show, or perhaps you spend hours thinking about how you messed up at work or said the wrong thing in a relationship. You may be feeling paralyzed by guilt, but can’t name what you actually did wrong. Perhaps you are feeling confused, depressed and not sure you even worthy of love.

Whatever it is, you’re noticing the impact on every faucet in your life:

  • You never feel like you are good enough

  • You are always striving or saying ‘yes’ to keep the approval of others

  • You stay in unhealthy relationships because you fear being alone

  • You ruminate on conversations long after they are over

  • You constantly question if you are “okay” in your relationships —- even long term ones

  • You are afraid to let anyone see the real you, for fear that they will leave

Those fears are real, but with compassion as our guide, let’s get to the root cause of those fears. We will sort through the voices of your past, learn to re-parent those younger, fearful parts and be able to show up as the confident adult you long to be.

  • recognize your value (without doing anything!)

  •  identify & uphold boundaries

  • accept that you are human & mistakes are OKAY

  • learn to take care of your own needs & wants

  • learn self-regulation & balance

  • connect with yourself & others

What it’s like to work with me

In our sessions together, compassion will be our guide.

Digging deep into the impact childhood trauma has on your life is an investment into your future self and the life you deserve.

We will explore the narratives you internalized as a child, celebrate your strength & resilience and grow compassion for the younger parts of you that developed as a way to survive. Along the way, you’ll process the trauma through Brainspotting, which will allow your whole body and mind to work together to integrate the experiences, be less activated and gain clarity.

You’ll gain the tools to hold yourself with compassion, re-parent your inner child, listen to her fears, and show up for her as the emotionally mature parent she never had.

I’ll help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to childhood trauma therapy comes from a place of hope and belief that you don’t have to be stuck any longer. It is time to get in touch with your authentic self, not who you were expected to be your entire life.

say goodbye to not feeling good enough.

Woman and inner child

because, At the end of the day:

investing in your own wellbeing can change everything.

  • I'd been looking for someone like you, who really understands & knew what I wanted to work on. I'm so grateful I found you.

  • This life-changing work is an investment of time, energy & finances. The process takes about a year to fully explore developmental and relational trauma and gain tools to help re-parent yourself. Participating in a Childhood Trauma Therapy Intensive around the 3 month mark is highly recommended as part of this work.

  • Nope. Talk therapy only gets us so far. We will incorporate Brainspotting, a brain-body trauma therapy modality into sessions. This allows your brain to process & integrate the physical & emotional experiences into your system as a whole. You get to talk as much or as little as you’d like. I’m always here to witness what you want to have said aloud, but you’ll never have to talk about what you don’t want to talk about.

  • Our work together will be most effective if you have these things in place: self awareness & insight, a support system, a practice of body awareness of when you are activated, self-regulation skills, and a practice of self-compassion.

  • Request a no-obligation consultation to get started on your journey toward healing. I’ll answer your questions and you can decide if I’m the right therapist for you.
