childhood trauma intensives can help you address the root of your trauma.

This specialized approach invites you to interact with your story with fresh eyes.

  • You will complete the Developmental and Relational Trauma Assessment. Together, we will use a process called “Getting Your Story Straight” to fully understand your own childhood story, and begin assigning rightful responsibility to your parents.

  • You will choose two memories that were particularly hurtful to you in childhood to reparent and reprocess. This will be pivotal work in changing how you show up for your younger, historical selves.

  • With this experiential empty chair work, you will speak from your functional adult self to your parents. You will tell them what you needed as a child, how their parenting or lack of parenting still effects you and your relationships today. You will identify ways in which you were shamed and actively give back the shame you have carried for the majority of your life.

As a functional adult, you will re-enter scenes from childhood and offer support to your younger self in the exact way you needed it. This is extremely therapeutic inner child work.

The result of this process is that you ‘grow up’ those younger parts that have been running your life. Please know this:

everyone makes sense in the context of their own story.

  • The intensive itself is designed to be facilitated in a small group format of 3-4 people. It is 3 full days.

  • You are ultimately in charge of your own healing journey. I understand your hesitations about participating with others, but before you rule it out, let’s have a conversation. This intensive can also be offered as a 1-1 therapy intensive.

  • If you are not already a client of mine, I require at least a 90 minute pre-intensive session in order for us to build rapport and get to know you and what you are specifically hoping for with the intensive. I have materials for you that can help lay the ground work for this particular intensive.

  • After deciding this intensive is right for you, you will fill out a Developmental and Relational Trauma Assessment, which is foundational for our work in the intensive.

Required reading also includes “How to do the Work” by Dr. Nicole LePera & I will send you a workbook.

    1. Embrace a self-compassion practice

    2. Practice body awareness of triggers or activation

    3. Engage with your support system

    4. Practice self-regulation with breathing or mindfulness

    5. Lead with curiosity instead of judgment

  • Not a problem! I am very collaborative and provide adjunct therapy for clients all of the time. Just reach out and we can discuss how this can work for you.

  • Intensives are billed at an hourly rate starting at $252. The total investment will depend on if you sign up for a 1-1 intensive or a small group intensive at a retreat location. For your budgeting purposes, you can expect to invest $1800-$2500. Keep in mind that intensives allow you to process much more material than you do in a typical weekly session. The investment is up front, but the shifts and changes in your relationships will continue to show up after the intensive is complete.

  • Fill out the free consultation form and we will have a conversation about if this intensive is right for you.
